Dr. Ryan Oommen
Founder, Vitality Physical Therapy, PLLC

Ryan is a licensed Physical Therapist, a Certified Personal Trainer, and a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist. Ryan grew up in New Hyde Park, NY, and is currently living and working as a physical therapist, trainer, and coach in Long Island City, NY.

Ryan was first exposed to the rehabilitation field after injuring his neck during a high school football game. After extensive physical therapy not only did he recover, but also discovered his dream job. Ryan has mentored under dozens of different physical therapists since that time and has taken steps to learn as much as he could about rehabilitation and strength and conditioning. After graduating from the University at Buffalo in 2015, Ryan worked as a Personal Trainer at Equinox in Great Neck, NY while simultaneously working on his M.S. degree in Exercise Science and Rehabilitation at Brooklyn College.
During PT school at Stony Brook University, Ryan got involved in other educational experiences which included receiving his Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), and performing internships with the Stony Brook Athletics Strength and Conditioning Staff coaching the men's Football, Basketball, Lacrosse, and Soccer teams. During his clinical internships, Ryan sought out the highest level of education he could find, traveling across the country to work at reputable, high-level sports and orthopedic clinics. Soon after graduating, Ryan created Vitality Physical Therapy with the intent to provide clients with safe and effective physical therapy and personal training services.

Currently, Ryan operates Vitality PT while being an adjunct faculty at his alma mater, Stony Brook University, assisting in teaching the Therapeutic Exercise course for 3rd year Doctorate of Physical Therapy candidates.

In his free time, Ryan likes to explore NYC's many food options, hike, cook and travel.
